Last weekend, two of our Designers at Westside Remodeling, Alana Busse and Danielle Peter, attended the WestEdge Design Fair in Santa Monica. The fourth annual WestEdge Design Fair brought together more than 11,000 attendees who got to see the latest in home design from over 150 brands.
New home design products, current design trends, and new design ideas were the focus of the event. Alana and Danielle gathered insight into cutting edge designs and products that they can incorporate into home remodeling projects for Westside Remodeling clients.
“This year the event featured a heavy influence on mid-century modern design with bold colors mixed with muted woods,” said Danielle. “Since trends have been leaning more streamlined this year, bent wood furniture as well as 3D printed accessories were very prominent.”
For homeowners looking to incorporate creative lighting, Danielle also mentioned that it’s refreshing to see more pendant lighting options becoming available. “Decorative pendant lighting utilizing LED technology seems to be on the rise. While it has become an important aspect to lighting design for the home, and a requirement by some codes, decorative accent fixtures in LED format have been hard to come by. It’s a relief that we’ll soon see more options as implied by products at the show.”
Alana and Danielle enjoyed seeing the variety of styles and products that were on show, and they’re looking forward to incorporating ideas and products from WestEdge in their upcoming remodeling projects. Visit the WestEdge Design Fair Website for more information.
