Black Is The New Black

Our designers have their fingers on the pulse of the fashion industry and they are aware of the particular styles or products that are starting to lose favor and look dated. One example is the new trend for using black accents to add drama to the calm, neutral spaces that are currently popular. Black adds depth and richness, yet stays within your neutral color scheme. Suddenly, black is popping up everywhere–from cabinet hardware, to faucet finishes, to major kitchen appliances. It is an exciting new direction for interiors. Vicki Korniski, one of Westside Remodeling’s designers, welcomes a black comeback. “I’ve always liked black hardware,” says Vicki. “It makes a great accent, whether it’s used for accessories or furnishings. I’m glad to see that it’s back in style again.”

“We recently did a kitchen remodel where the countertop material was black quartz and the hardware was black. Black gives this kitchen the continuity and repetition that all designers hope to achieve. This project is very current,” Vicki points out. “We just finished the kitchen remodel this week.”
