A Delightfully Detailed Mediterranean Kitchen Remodel

Westside Remodeling

An expansive kitchen deserves an elegant and intricate design, and this Newbury Park kitchen remodeled by Westside Remodeling has exactly that. Every detail was meticulously chosen, from the bronze cabinet pull handles, to the hanging light fixtures, to the handmade custom accent tile, all to establish a grand Mediterranean feel.

The homeowner wanted to add an impressive traditional design that distinguished her home design from the rest of the housing development. She also wanted a design that incorporated larger appliances to make cooking and preparing food more enjoyable. Alana Busse, lead designer at Westside Remodeling, approached this remodel looking to create a one-of-a-kind Mediterranean kitchen that can make for a great discussion point among guests.

The room itself is expansive, and a large archway connects the kitchen with the living room, adding to the luxurious feel of this home. The natural lighting that flows in through the door and window brightens up the room and complements the subtle canned lighting in the celling. These details create an already lavish atmosphere, and the Mediterranean kitchen style enhances the look of this space.

The homeowner opted for a lighter color scheme, so Alana helped her choose cabinets finished with an antique white espresso glaze. The granite countertops and tumbled travertine backsplash include an array of hues from soft ivory to rich gold. Many of the appliances, including the refrigerator, the dishwasher, and the wine cooler, are fitted with custom panels to match the white cabinets throughout the space. These lighter colors in the cabinetry and the countertops contrast the dark engineered wood flooring in this room, and the natural lighting enhances how these colors look in this space.

The Mediterranean style of this kitchen is embodied through ornate details in the cabinetry, molding, tile, fixtures, and hardware. The decorative details in the cabinets including the detailed edges and complex frames contribute to the intricate Mediterranean style. The bronze cabinet handles contrast the antique white cabinet doors and add more detail to this design. The backsplash accent tile was handmade, custom for this kitchen and it fits elegantly as a major centerpiece for the room. All of these elements contribute to the intricate look and intentional design of this Mediterranean inspired kitchen.

This Mediterranean remodel is a fantastic discussion point for all the guests of this home, and we are happy that the homeowner found it as functional as it is beautiful.
